Systematizing Stripe’s Local Payments
Creating a cohesive design system that spans Stripe's checkout process, its elements, and mobile interface
About Stripe
Stripe is a technology company that provides online payment processing for businesses. It offers a suite of tools allowing merchants to accept payments, manage subscriptions, and handle transactions securely. With its user-friendly interface and robust features, Stripe has become a popular choice for e-commerce platforms, startups, and established businesses seeking efficient and reliable payment solutions.
About This Project
Assigned to create designs for 'local payment methods' in APAC, I noticed consistent design patterns across various payment types and products. Inspired, I initiated a new project to standardize our approach for designing and implementing global payment methods, aiming for increased efficiency and coherence across the board.
Team Structure & My Role
Recruited as the APAC design lead, a key responsibility was devising fresh regional payment methods for the region. This endeavor highlighted the advantages of a centralized approach via a single organization, as opposed to multiple regional teams addressing similar issues. Consequently, I emerged as Stripe's primary designer for introducing new payment methods, leveraging expertise in streamlining the process across the board.
